The machine’s appeal is unusually easy to explain: a three-inch moving abrasive surface gives long edges far more support than a narrow grinder bit. The tilting platform is genuinely useful for repeatable bevels, while the included 80, 120 and 400-grit belts make the progression understandable from day one.
Setup realities buyers should know
Allow space around the belt housing for spray and belt changes. The 120-volt limitation is important: buyers outside compatible regions need the correct model or a manufacturer-approved solution, not an improvised plug adapter.
What ownership is actually like
Belt tracking, water delivery and platen cleanliness become part of the routine. Start with the least aggressive grit that will do the job and rinse glass sludge before it dries around the reservoir and rollers.
Is it good value?
It is a specialist purchase, but a sensible one for a fusing studio repeatedly correcting long edges. For occasional stained-glass pattern fitting, the price and footprint are harder to justify.
