What earns a recommendation
We require an identifiable model, a manufacturer or established specialist source, a clear workshop use, and a practical route to the right consumables. For machines, we also look for published instructions, voltage information and an identifiable support route. Every recommendation must explain a limitation and who should choose something else.
When we remove a recommendation
Conflicting essential specifications, unclear model identity or insufficient support evidence can take a product out of our finder and buying shortlists. Where an existing review remains useful, it explains the decision and points to alternatives without a purchase button. A withheld recommendation is an evidence decision, not proof that every unit is defective.
Source hierarchy
Manufacturer pages and manuals establish specifications. Specialist suppliers can confirm model identity and compatibility. Marketplace ratings and seller-hosted testimonials are not controlled reliability tests and do not determine our rankings.
Buying options
We match Amazon listings to the model, size and kit described before adding an affiliate buying button. Every review also retains a manufacturer or specialist route when available. Where listing identity conflicts, we withhold the Amazon link. Some brands sell through dealers; those links are labelled as manufacturer information or dealer-finder links. Always check the selected size, kit, voltage, shipping region and return terms before ordering.
Testing and updates
Our current assessments are based on published evidence, not hands-on testing. We do not invent test results, star scores or ownership experience. Reviews distinguish the date of a buying-route check from older specification research, and corrections are incorporated into the article.
Commercial independence
